AMY SPOON

Born and raised and currently live in a region of the Pacific Northwest where the salt meets the freshwater, leaving me with endless fishing opportunities year-round. Growing up and living in a target rich environment like I have, it was inevitable that I would have a rod and reel in my hand for my entire life.
If I had to fish for one species for the rest of my life, it would hands down be winter steelhead. After steelhead is over, and lasting all the way through summer, I get to go out after so many different species including salmon, lingcod, halibut, sturgeon, tuna, summer steelhead, trout, and multiple warmwater species.
Because I feel that everyone should get to experience the endless things that fishing has to offer, I organize and facilitate women’s only fishing trips. The goal of these events is to provide a space where women can get together with other like-minded women, be able to try new things, and get to experience what it is about fishing that just makes life better. I am passionate about providing these opportunities that might not normally exist for these women, inspiring others to just get out and try something new and show people that you don’t even have to be good at it to have the time of your life.
