I am from Northeastern PA, just south of Scranton. I have been fishing out of a kayak since 2017. I started fishing kayak tournaments in 2020 when one of my friends introduced me to the Hobie BOS on the Susquehanna River. The Susky is practically in my back yard, so naturally I was interested in fishing the tournament. Ever since then I was hooked.
My fishing style developed dramatically since that Hobie tourney on the Susky. I always loved fishing for smallmouth bass. Despite growing up fishing the Susquehanna River, I really developed an affinity for chasing deep, clear water, smallmouth on some of the most famous lakes in the country including Lake Champlain, Lake Ontario/Thousand Islands, and the Finger Lakes. Also, In the winter and early spring I often travel south to target largemouth bass when the major tournament trails kick off their seasons.
Kayak fishing allowed me to expand my skills as an angler, travel the country, and meet some awesome people along the way. It really is surreal that I was lucky enough to find such an amazing sport.
