Veronika Kolajová wins the 2025 Hobie Fishing Euros powered by Lowrance

Veronika Kolajová from Czech Republic is the New Hobie Fishing European Champion. After a solid Day 1 ending in 4th place, she managed to navigate through the rain and load up her card. A total of 336 CM caught at Oravská Priehrada earned her the title, trophy and qualification to the Hobie Fishing Worlds 13. In winning this event she is the first female winner of the Hobie Fishing Euros!

Sammy Huygens (BE) finished in second place. He had another good fishing day, but just came up short catching 334 CM fish over 2 days.

Alexander Vandekendelaere (BE), 2024 Hobie Fishing European Champion came in 3rd place this year. He totalled 332 CM over 2 days.

Another early morning start. At the end of the fishing day, a new Hobie Fishing European Champion will be crowned. It was windstil and dry when the anglers entered the tournament arena this morning after the briefing. Something everyone knew that was going to change quickly in the morning, but therefor probably a bit more appreciated. Right after the start we saw the first lines fly out and the fishing was on! Igor Zlechovec (SK) was the first to land a fish on his measuring board today.

Around 8:30 the rain started to not stop anymore the rest of the day. The fishing side of things get better. The changed conditions make them a lot more active and more submissions come in than yesterday. The name in the top spot changed a couple times over the morning, but Sammy Huygens made regained it right before the live standings went black at 12:00. With three hours to go, he remains the guy to beat.

Rain was pouring down by now at Oravská Priehrada which made some anglers realize that their “waterproof” wasn’t really waterproof and overcome by the wetness and cold they made their way back early to start packing up. Some “Die Hards” stayed on the water till the very end, fishing the flats just next to the event site. Rain kept on pouring down all the way till check in time. A nice cup of soup was available for anglers that came of the water to warm up.

Everybody made it back at 3:00 and that was the end of the 2025 Hobie Fishing Euros powered by Lowrance. All that left to do is the award ceremony which commenced at 17:00. Without our sponsors we can’t run this event and therefor a big shoutout to all of them: Lowrance, CMAP, Molix, Nocqua, Hobie Eyewear, Traascustoms, OneDesign Drysuits, BerleyPro. Thank you fro your ongoing support.

A special thanks goes to 3Fish! Without them we wouldn’t be here. Frantisek, his wife Darina, his daughter Radka and his good friend Dusan all helped out to make this event like no other.

Mahmut Arslan caught the biggest fish of the event. He landed a 67CM Pike on Day 1.
